Inner tread wear on front tires only
Both my front tires are worn on the inner edge...both tires have about the same wear at the inner edge..the rest of the tire is worn evenly
I am going to replace these tires next week and want to take the car to my mechanic and have this addressed so that I dont ruin my new tires the way I did the current ones...only got about 15K miles out of them Im trying to figure out the budget for this fix.... is this an alignment issue? Sorry no photos at the moment

Probably an alignment issue. Inner tread wear is indicative of too much negative camber.

camber is one of the things an alignment will correct.

My fronts are also worn in the inside, with a lot of tread remaining on the outside. I'm not sure if its caused by bushings, but I've decided to replace the A arm bushings and camber plate bushings with Elephant racing rubber. My 1987 model A arm bushings had significant distortion.

It's a combination of too much toe out and negative camber, but the important question here is, what kind of tire is it? 15K is a lot of miles for a set of high performance tires on a 911.

Wouldn't there be some scrubbing showing also?

I am with the negative camber vote. Alignment will fix either/both and you do not need to get a $400 weight balance alignment unless you choose that. The guys at alignment shops are not baffled by the 911 suspension. Do look for an established place that does mainly chassis work and has some lifer wrenches vs. big box repair shops that hire 19 year olds right out of tech schools. Kids are sharp, no doubt, but experience requires screw-ups. |

While it could be toe out, you would probably know about that condition as the car would "wander" on the highway.

I don't think I've ever gotten 15,000mi. out of a set of tires maybe 10k. Always check your alignment when you change tires.
