Is there a "recommended mechanic by region" thread?

Hi all, I am moving from Atlanta to Charlotte and would like to find a recommended mechanic for my ride. I have a 73 with a recent 3.0 CIS put in. I use the car 50/50 track/weekend.

I am currently using Franz Blam and surprisingly, he doesn't know anyone in Charlotte. When I moved to ATL from Minneapolis 4 years ago, I made a huge mistake taking my car to the wrong shop. FBR ended up re-doing most of what was done. If anyone is looking for a mechanic in ATL, I highly recommend you check out FBR and ask for Franz.

Thanks in advance. Mark

Zuffenhaus in Monroe, just outside of Charlotte, does amazing work. I would start there. Im just outside of Charlotte in Huntersville. PM me if you have any area OT questions.

Let me toss out another name here in NC....Bruce Abbott (FLAT6PAC here on PP)..he's in Nash Co, so a bit of a drive for you

He's doing my top end/clutch/brakes/kitchen sink and I couldn't be happier....very knowledgeable, timely, and reasonable.

Can't say enough good things....

Steinel's Autowerks in NE Ohio is a highly recommended Porsche-only shop.
