17 rears 16s in front & possibly mismatch tires

Ad pics below caught my eye as the stance just looked so good. Most likely tires will be mismatched due to inavailability. I'm thinking 205/55/16 in front with 255/40/17 at the back for a narrow body. I assume it's not good for track (or is it?) but would it be OK for street? or don't do it period? Did a search and found it may or may not be good but need more info. Thanks!!

Nothing wrong with mixing wheel diameters. I know of several people on here who have done it. I think it is a smart way to go, because the desired wider 16 in. rear tire selection just isn't plentiful anymore.

Mixing tire brands front-rear is no big deal either. I've done it at the track on numerous occasions. It'll be fine for the street.
