chin spoiler delete

Having just removed the whale tail on my '88 Carrera, I'm considering removing the chin spoiler as well. Since I do most of my driving on the crappy roads in Chicago, I'd like to have a bit more clearance.

Anyway, I was wondering if anybody has a picture of a car with the deleted spoiler -- I want to see if I can live with the holes in the front valence. If they're noticeable, I may just leave the thing on.

Thanks!

If you opt to remove it PLEASE consider me as a person who really has a big desire to help you out with getting it to a new home

And I could certainly take the whale tale off of your hands...

I can speak of a delete (front or rear) since my 83 just diddnt have one from the factory or when i got it but, i opted to add the front chin and keep the rear spoilerless. to me with the side skirts you almost need the front chin to keep a balanced appearance.

and a not so awesome pic when i was dealing with some issues and replacing a fender (gee thanks idot neighbors) and seeing how the targa looked without side skirts but, with the chin. (do not like, and think only coupes can pull it off)

Ed -- thanks for the generous offer to take the spoiler off my hands -- First, though, I have to decide whether it's worth removing it; second, I have to decide whether keeping the chin is a good idea when/if I ever decide to sell the car.
Steve -- same issue with the tail. Maybe I should start a new post on that topic ...

Ryan -- I can't get a good look at the valence in the first pic, and I don't see a spoiler in the second (lower). Maybe I'm missing something. Nice targa, BTW.

There is no spoiler in the first pic (but it has side skirts), but there is a front spoiler in the second (but the side skirts are removed).

the rule I heard was:
no chin + no tail = good
chin + no tail = good
no chin + tail = bad
chin + tail = good

for resale I dont think it will make any real difference unless it is on the build sheet and you have the build sheet - (and the car has < 20K miles on it)

Ed, I've been planning to remove my chin spoiler at some point, as well as ditching the fog lights and going to a no-fog valance. Probably wasn't going to do all this until next year, but maybe I could be persuaded to do it sooner...
