Need pics of 3.0 CIS engines out of car

I'm getting ready to look for a 911SC and would like some pics of the CIS system from all angles so I can start identifiying parts. I used to work on the CIS system in other cars years ago, but would like some help finding the hard to see stuff in the 911.
Any pics of an engines out of the car would be great or a thread that already addresses this. I didn't find one. Maybe I should call this the "Ultimate CIS engine picture thread". Also put the year of the car it came from to help with the changes from year to year. Post here or email to:

clevy911@comcast.net

Thanks a bunch, Scott

Do you have the Bentley 911SC manual? that helps. And I would suggest posting here rather than email (to the helpers) to help future searchers with similar issues.

Actually I found some pics, so help me and others identify parts. Pelican has a different picture of the AAR and AAV than the say performance products, so I'm confused. I have a Bosch K-Jetronic book on the way, but I can't wait.

Numbered for clarity.

PICS UPDATED AND CORRECT IN LATER POST

If you are interested I have a few of a 76 2.7 CIS unit. It is actually off of the engine at this point.

1) & 2) are correct, 3) is the deceleration valve 4) is the cold start injector and 5) is the case vent housing

For more CIS info go to Jim William's page: http://members.rennlist.com/jimwms/CIS/CIShome.html

Awesome website and thanks for the info! I still can't see the WUR and I know what it looks like. Maybe I'm overlooking it.

Thanks again,SCott

WUR is on the left, looking at the front of the motor/back of the car, first thing behind the heater hose.

Scott,
Looking at the pictures and responses in this post confuses me. Looking at your first picture (right side of engine with clear view of AAR & AAV) I can also see the nipple of another valve sticking out that looks similar to the AAV. I was under the impression that this was the DECEL Valve. Though looking at the rear view I see you have one of the older style decel valves attacted. Why would you have TWO? Or am I confused? Thx. DH

When I posted this, I was a CIS newb, but now am pretty confident about my knowledge about it's basics. I ended up taking my whole CIS system out and went through everything, twice. haha
When I posted this thread, I thought that this was the same engine, different angles, but now I can see that one is an early engine with the plastic fuel lines and the older style decel valve and the other pic had metal lines and the later style decel valve. So you were correct. I was just using these pics I had found to ask questions. This wasn't my engine and dont have 2 decel valves. Sorry about the confusion. Posting these updated pics should help people I the future.

Here's a low quality "picture of a picture" of the backside of my 78 engine - I think you can make out most of the lines and components.

I have some rear engine pics of my 81 I took when out in 2009 that are very dense and great for zooming in. Too big to post here.

Nice thing is the backside of the engine is unmolested - factory wire straps and such are like day 1. So I will send those.

The CIS primer is a good reference as well. Has the basic diagrams that should allow you to trace your lines without difficulty. Would be a nice supplement.

CIS Primer for the Porsche 911

Charles Probst's book on Bosch CIS is a great resource. Bentley manual as well.

Learn how to search the forums also. It is a great tool. Good luck with your project.
