Broken Speedo Pin Fix :)
I attempted to replace the odometer gears without removing the face-plate, but I was tired, my hand slipped, and I broke the pin that the speedo needle attaches to
![]() My fix? a picture (or three) can convey a thousand words: ![]() ![]() ![]() Parts to make the Pin Joiner: A WD-40 tube nozzle, cut and drilled to size to fit over the main shaft body (where the pin was attached prior to breakage), and Crazy Glue to secure the pin in the nozzle tube. I also drilled the white threaded female bushing so that the red nozzle (joiner) would fit through. I have installed and tested the speedo against GPS - seems to be fine. To avoid this issue, remember to work on this delicate task when you are well-rested, and (with a steady hand) gently turn the speedometer needle past the internal stop to gently twist the speedometer needle assembly off the tiny pin! Then the face-plate can be removed without issue. Safe Motoring ![]()
