Can't shut my door! Help

I was trying to fix the window switch, and I got curious with the door latch. I turned it, now I can't turn it back. Used the key to unlock it won't even budge. What to do. By the way. I fixed the window. It now goes up and down. Thanks guys.
Also, there is a place to,put the key right on the side of the door, what is that use for?

Is the door open or closed? If you can, try opening it with the INSIDE door handle.

The "other" key is typically for an alarm. If you have never used it, it's probably defunct.

I just twisted mine to replicate. It locked. I squeezed the outside door handle lever and it released.

I did the exact same thing once. First I freaked out. Then I tried the handles and one of them released it - can't recall if it was the inside or outside handle, but all was well after that. Decided not to do that again...

squeeze the handle and manipulate the door latch back to its original position.

I did this the other day and almost freaked out until I realized the outside handle releases it - scary moment.

You might be due to lube up your door mechanisms. Just sayin.

We have all been through it. Nice feeling when it pops back open, eh?

kidrock has the real answer if there was a problem - lube or spring issue. Coax it back into place while pulling the handle then get your fixin' on.
