Tire widths for 84 Targa?
My 84 Carrera Targa has the stock 15" Fuchs, which according to the stickers in the engine compartment, originally ran 186/70/15 front and 215/60/15 rear. I think these are 15x6 and 15x7 and I don't think the fenders have been rolled.
When I got the car 4 months ago it came with Bridgestone RE940 mounted; 195/60/15 front and 215/60/15 rear. They still have good tread, but are a little long in the tooth. New Bridgestone RE960AS are not terribly expensive, so I was thinking I should get new tires. Then I thought, like everything else associated with this car, should I do better? This car is going to be used for mostly street, but with some DE and AX. I want to stay with the stock 15" Fuchs for now. In the Bridgestone G019 or RE960 I can get: 195/65/15 205/65/15 205/60/15 215/60/15 but I can't find any 225/60/15 unless I get Kunho Ecsta ASX or BF Goodrich Radial T/A and I can't find any 225/55/15 unless I get Hoosier which are track only How will the Bridgestones in 205/65/15 front and 215/60/15 rear fit and handle?

as for the 205/215, they will fit fine and run nicely - I have 2.5 years of AutoX and DE on street tires the same size, and DD my car
but AS tires?? YUCK..does it snow alot in Georgia? I have Conti DW tires (not DWS) on my stock wheels and they are plenty fun, offer good traction for autox and a DE if its all you have budget for - get something a little better than a snow tire, they will last longer at AutoX too with less cuts in the tread

Yep, that's what I'm finding.
We do get the occasional snow here, so I run all season on my Acura and BMW, since they are go-to-work cars. The Porsche? Not so much, but all season is about all there is.

Caveat, each manufacturer has their own version of widths so to be safe go see them at a tire shop side by side:
