Shift Bushings

I recently replaced my shift bushings. After shifting perfectly for a few days, the dreaded hard click back into second gear reappeared. Any reason why?

You change the bushing on the bottom of the gear lever and more importantly, the one near the gear lever that holds the sliding selector arm that goes back to towards the gearbox (i.e. part number 914 424 224 00 on an SC)?

so it did this before you replaced them..what did you see in the way of wear or parts not in place

then you "fixed" it and now it's doing it again?

maybe something came out or moved? maybe the coupler adjustment slipped or the pin came partially out? I would look at that and then raise the shift towere a little (loosen screws 1/4") and see how that effects it

As the cars get older the clamp that holds the shifter alignment can become less than reliable.

solution a Wevo clamp
