Particular Yellow Spray Paint for H4 Lens

I'm looking for the shade of yellow on the right. Anyone know what it's called and where I can get one? Thank you.

It's been a while but pretty sure I used Duplicolor Metalcast paint in yellow to do mine.

Thanks but both appear to be brighter shades of yellow on the left of my posted pics. I'm looking for the pale one on the right. I think I found one but pricey at $41 shipped.

Vans Spray Lens Paint (Yellow, 130ml)|Automotive Lens' Painter|JDM Color Tailights Paints

Anyone have leftovers they don't need?

I'm not convinced that the orange car just has Yellow Bulbs and clear lenses... the yellow bulb even when not in use will give the reflective cone part a yellow tint.

As well, those two cars that look more solid yellow have the pics taken outside vs inside with the orange one. If they're all painted, there could be differing number of coats and build up of colour/density/opaqueness.

I've used the Krylon Stained Glass Paint for clear turn signal lenses. It takes up to 8 coats to get to amber. By experimenting with the number of coats, chances are you can get to the right shade.

Folks, sorry if I have a confusing question. I'm trying to duplicate the lens color on the right below (dull) versus the brighter yellow on the left. Anyway I found a Vans Spray can for $30 on eBay an hour ago which would hopefully do the job. Thanks for the feedbacks.

what Bob said also ...

and you can buy yellow lenses ... then keep your stock ones so when you get pulled over and given a ticket you can put the legal ones back in ... if you get a real winner of an officer they can also point out and verify if your H4 lenses are not DOT approved .. most of them are not I believe ... true it would be an #@@ of an officer to do that but the yellow tint on them any place in the US I am 95% sure not legal in any state ...

but its up to you ....

I've used the Krylon Stained Glass paint and it turns out much paler than the bright plastic lenses you've shown on the left. The yellow bulb approach is also an option I've done, but the result is actually very subtle. The yellow really only shows when you look at the lights head on.

Krylon is the way to go unless you want to use actual yellow glass H1 lenses which will cost big $$$.

Yellow Headlights are LEGAL in the California. Here's the link to the California Vehicle Code in regards to the colors of lamps: V C Section 25950 Color of Lamps and Reflectors

Years ago I had a car with yellow headlights and I printed out this section of the CVC and kept a laminated copy in the glove box.

Ciao,
n.
