Anyone know if these wheels will fit?

I have a 78 911sc non turbo. I like these wheels but in a 17 inch size no 20's would actually prefer a 16 but 17s would be fine. Does anyone know if these will work. I have been having a heck of a time figuring out what will fit my car and what won't I just want to get some new wheels and I need tires bad but don't want to get the tires then find some wheels. Please help. Thank you in advance.

In short: don't do it.

You'll likely have to stick on some mega-spacers/adapters to run these wheels. The ad doesn't say what the offset is. But if it's like most late-model aftermarket wheels/applications, the offset is likely to be pretty high (as in 50-60 mm range). Off the top of my head, your car's OEM wheels have offsets of 18-23 mm (or something in that range). So you'll need spacers to fit in between the hub and the wheel, or else the wheels will look too sunken in. It'll look like crap, and there'll likely be clearance issues with suspension/brakes. So you'll need spacers to make up that 30-40 mm difference. Then the wheel studs will be too short. So you'll need adapters (think spacers with 5 studs sticking out to extend the effective length of the existing studs--kind of). Negatives of that set-up: cost, weight, and potential safety. Plus, you have wheels that I don't think will look very good on your car (but it's your car, not mine). You'll also have to ask them to machine the bolt holes specific for a Porsche application, as Porsche seems to use a configuration no one else does: 5x130. I'm not so confident they're familiar with Porsches, as they don't even spell the marque's name correctly in their ad.

There are better-looking, less mathematically-fussy wheels you can buy for a '78 911. Rota, Euromeister, or a variety of used wheels (Fuchs, BBS, etc) that often come up for sale on Pelican or ebay. They'll fit, look period correct, and you won't likely have to fuss with spacers/adapters.

Its hard to say since the seller lists offset as "custom," but judging by the style of wheel, they probably will not fit without large spacers, or possibly adapters. i dont know if thats something you are against or not, but outside of custom built wheels or original fuchs there are not many options for us

Thanks guys I appreciate it, I don't like spacers at all will not run them on my car. I am just looking for something a bit more updated looking to run on the car. And not have to pay Fiske money to do it, although they make some very great looking wheels. As usual I appreciate the knowledge that is on this board, it always amazes me how much there is to offer through this community. Have a great night and thank you again.

Unfortunately, we don't have too many choices for our cars as most wheels are made for the 964+. Just keep your eyes peeled for Kinesis, Simmons and even CCW wheels in the used parts forum. You can find great deals, but you have to act fast when one pops up.

WPOZZZ,
Thanks for the heads up I really appreciate it. It's gotta be rough on the island to get parts shipped. I should stop whining about the cost over on the main land. It just costs so much extra for anything that says Porsche, gets old sometimes.

I see a bunch of the turbo twist wheels off of the newer cars on our body style as well as the other wheel not sure what it's called but it's got 5 spokes that roll over on the edge of the wheel. Do those bolt on without to much trouble? They seem to be fairly inexpensive to pickup in my area.

Keep an eye on the Pelican classifieds. Cool wheels come up for sale frequently.

The bolt pattern for the 911 is 5x130 so make sure any wheels you consider have the correct bolt pattern AND offset.
