Carrera Fender Oil Cooler and Fan Mounting Position

I just picked up an Elephant Racing Carrera style fender oil cooler. Also, I picked up the fan that sell for the unit. Where do I position the fan? Top, middle or bottom of cooler, or maybe it does not matter. I have seen pics of them at the top and bottom, though I am thinking bottom.

Thanks,

Chuck

You don't have much choice due to the headlight bucket. It will have to go down low.

Chuck, good name! Thanks for the quick reply. I will mount at the bottom. Is their any chance of damaging the inner tubing with the #1 Phillips screwdriver? I did a quick glance of the instructions and want to make sure that I do things correct. I assume that I will be OK.

Thanks,

Chuck

+1 goes on the bottom portion like the OEM fan and close to the fins as possible to get the best cooling. Just make sure the fan rotates freely once in position. If you twist the housing it will bind and blow the fuse.

You may also want to consider placing a cover at the bottom to insure air will not just blow straight down where there is least amount of resistance.

I don't understand your question about the phillips screw driver? What are you trying to do?

I am referring to the instructions with the Elephant Racing cooling fan. It has a plastic strap that goes through the fins to hold it in place on the cooler. It states to use a PH1 to slightly spread the fins to get the strap through.

Thanks,

Chuck

Oh I see, don't worry fins bend just don't damage the tubes.
