Thanks I was looking for some more personalized info, that doesn't show up in the results What happened to Westerdune and Burger? I see Bauer is in a different class, What car? RSR? What happened to Todd Simmmons he qualified well but the finish was poor, I Iheard that he and Pete Bole were both having some engine trouble in the early spring. I guess im looking for some local info.

Jeff Burger did not race but his car did. Apparently he sold it recently to a guy who finished mid pack.

Henk Westerdun tried to race in D in his new C2 Cup car but he broke the engine during practise and did not race.

Bob Scotto did not qualify due to a rear hub problem on his '88 Carrera so he started last on the grid in F. But he worked his way up through the field to finish 4th. Impressive driving!

Oliver Zittsman won the class without too much trouble.

My understanding is that Burger and Scotto are both buying C2 Cup cars so they can all race together with Westerdun in D. So instead of "F-Troop" they will be call themselves the "D-Cups". Seriously, I didn't make that up.

Here are some pics of Steve Bauers new car, it's listed as a 74RSR but he told me 75,very nice whatever the year, he's planning on doing the club races and vintage races with it;

Henks gorgeous new Cup car broke a valve spring retainer in the last round of qualifying;

Jeff Burger, as John pointed out, was a spectator but should also have a Cup car to match Henks shortly.

Oliver Zitzmann put on another clinic in F in his 90 C2, though Jim Hamblin in a swb 67 GT5 did apply some pressure early. There was lots of talk about scrutinizing OZs car but the officials who were watching closely attributed the win to superior driving, fwiw I agree) OZs Michlins were howling noticeable more than any one elses tires in the esses, he attributed the noise to their age, they are the same set he used to win at Atlanta I think he said over 20 odd track days including 2 full race days on that set. The only other difference that I could see was custom headers with primaries a little longer than the off the shelf ones like B&B or the RSRs that Steve B. was using(I was very pleased to see the same muffler setup as on my car)
OZs car 90 C2

Joe Fabiani did very well in his 95 993, I was disappointed to not get achance to talk to him but did get a chance to shoot the s___ with Bill Walzak who was doing his first race in his new 993, he was in heaven.

One of the most impressive drives in the faster classes was Rick Deman in what appeared to be an ex Champion GT2(the same #74 Ihave on my shelf at home)

All in all it was just about a perfect day for everyone, no carnage, just lots of good racing!

Bill,

Unfortunately I cannot agree on the "no carnage" comment. Ask Wayne Vitale who's '01 Cup Car had another car run over his hood during practice and ask Spencer Cox who could not avoid a spinning a car at the entry to Big Bend during the GT1 race on Saturday, among others. My understanding is that over a dozen 13/13's were issued over the course of the weekend. Not good.

I missed all of that, the worst I saw was a red car in E that spun off in big bend then pulled out in front of traffic, TWICE

Oh, Todd Simons qiualified well but had ignition problems in the race and retired early.
