Pelican rebuilds Speedometers??

I've been on this forum for quite some time and have bought a lot of stuff; but in all my years here I NEVER have heard about Pelican Parts rebuilding speedometers.

I found a speedometer on eBay that according to the seller was rebuilt by Pelican Parts in LA.

Below is the complete item description from eBay:

"Early Porsche 911 speedometer rebuilt by Pelican Parts in Los Angeles. Odometer reset works. OBO"

To be honest I was interested in the item but was taken aback by the misrepresentation of the item.

To the best of my knowledge Pelican does NOT and has NEVER rebuilt speedometers, or am I mistaken?

Last time I was at this shop, Gary mentioned

There you go gentlemen (& ladies) I stand corrected!

Pelican does rebuild (regauge) speedometers

I will admit, it is a little disconcerting that when a member asks where to rebuild a speedometer Pelican is never suggested, only North Hollywood and Palo Alto.

Nothing against those other shops (I've taken work to North Hollywood) but since Wayne and Co. Host our antics I feel we should patronize them as much a possible.

Again, thanks for setting me straight

Yes, that is a common situation not only for speedos but other Porsche parts, e.g. CDI units.
Pelican Parts has access to many Porsche vendors some of which are not in their catalog.
It's always best to call customer service for a part that's not found in the catalog.
