3.2 K & N Cone Filter Question (Crankcase Breather Line)

Hi Guys

I recently purchased an '86 Carrera and have posted about a slight whistle near the throttle plate area - Took the Plunge... Couple of Questions

My car came with a K & N RX-4990 cone filter in place of the stock airbox (I am familiar with the pros and cons). After a bit of research I've noticed that a couple of other brands of conical style filters have a built in crankcase breather port (MSDS AC001 filter for example). The question I have is where should the hose that's supposed to connect to the air filter connect to the crankcase? I didn't see anything back there, but I didn't look real closely either. I'm wondering if this is where my intermittent whistle and slight off idle hesitation are coming from. I didn't see an exploded view for an '86 on this site. Can anyone point me to a diagram of the crankcase hoses?

Thanks!
Josh

Mine was fitted with a brass barbed fitment to side of the adaptor for the cone filter, right at the neck in the back.

Post a pic of your set up.

The hesitation I couldn't speak too, but I've owned like 4-5 cars now with cone filters, they all whistled, my current 911 included, they just have a louder intake sound

Mine also came with the brass nipple for the hose that is on the base. I pulled the system off as I purchased a Hotshot. If you would like to have the body, and cover shipping, I'll gladly send it to you.

Thanks for the offer, Chris. I took another look at the car tonight. There is a plate screwed to the side of the MAF for the air filter. I don't see any fittings on the back side, nor any crankcase hoses that would attach in this area. Even if I had a plate with the fitting, I'm not sure what I'd hook to it. Am I overlooking the crankcase hose that should connect here?
