Cambria photos, over a hundred of 'em

Wow. Another great R Gruppe gathering. It's just amazing to see all of these one-of-a-kind early hot rods, each a hand-crafted work of art -- and then to see them roaring like thunder through the canyon roads of a quiet seaside community.

Every year this event gets better.

I've thrown together some web pages with thumbnails you can click on. I'm not sure if it's going to work right, and I'm dead tired. So if the links are bad, check back tomorrow and I'll fix it. There are no captions or explanations, yet.

Here's the link.

Jack the link works fine.

Really great pictures. I wish we had arrangements like that here in Denmark.

I'm going to look into the costs -- and the legalities -- involved in taking my RHD car with me to next year's R Gruppe gathering.

While all the pics and observations are nice, it kind of feels like I'm in prison.

Great pics! I'm getting ready to drive up to a Porsche show this weekend in Cary, NC with a group of fellow Porsche owners. Now, I'm really looking forward to it.

So what's the story on the blue & orange Gulf car? Original ST, replica or what? Inquiring minds want to know! -- Curt

I was told it's a factory ST. It was beautifully restored. I wish I knew more about it.

I'd like to know more about the red 911 with the slide valve motor in it. I was told its super lightweight and packin plenty of power . Does he have a website?

Gasburner,

The posterboard shown in three views on Jack's page has a nice description of that car. 3.5 RSR motor. Wow.

Here's the link. http://bender.annenberg.edu/cars/pelican/JackOlsen/Cambria2002/index.html

Thanks for sharing the pic Jack. Those are some beautiful cars. The paint on the purple one is gorgious.

But what's with the accordian Carrera with the "RGroupe" logo? (page 3, 4th pic down on the right)

Thanks Jack for the pics. It allows the rest of us to see those great cars. I just never get sick of the early 911s.

Here are the details on the lightweight, very powerful (1860 pounds, 360 hp) 912/911 narrow-body monster.
