Tires for 16x9 Fuchs

Just acquired a couple of 16x9 Fuchs and checked on Tire Rack for tires, and I was surprised to find that there is nothing in the appropriate size (245/45R16) except R-rubber tires...

I use 15-inch wheels for the track, and had planned on using the 16s on the road...
Is there any street tires made for these rims?

That's why the popularity for 16x9s have fallen in the last few years. I think there is still a few tire offerings you just have to search them out.

Fuzion ZRi is about your only option for a street tire.

EDIT - looks like they're not making them any more either. Glad I just picked up a set.

Try the 265/45/16 Kumhos.

The turbo guys have found that they are a good street tire.

Link>265/45/16's, a gift from the tire gods!

I run 9s, with the stock 245/45 size.

Hopefully someone starts making these again in the next few years, when I need tires!

I don't like the look of 265 at all. Way too tall.

I think if worse came to worse, I'd use a brand that runs "wide" on their sizing, and use a 225 50 on the 9s.

Looking it over it would appear that Kumho no longer makes a 16 inch tire any bigger than 225 50...

It is almost tempting to buy a set of RA1s and run them all year--I mean I live in California for Pete's sakes! ;-)

The Nexon N3000 looks okay...Anyone have any experience with them?

+1 = I did this in Florida when I was down to one set of wheels - thinking of going down that road again...

I run R888s all the time here in Sweden. No worries except for the road noise.

I've seen 225s on 9s and that is not a problem, you can hardly tell the difference (unless that particular brand is very "narrow"). Personally I'd rather do that than run 265.

I did this for a long time (before I bought a second set of wheels) and the only real drawback IMO is the ride quality. The sidewall stiffness of the RA-1s is such that anything other than nice roads is fatiguing after a while. On a stock car it might not be too bad, but it got old in mine (and I have a high tolerance for "bad" ride quality).

I run 16x9's on my car. Selection of tires was limited but I did come up with some Sumitomo HTR in
245/45 ZR 16.
I got them at Tire Rack about a year ago. Maybe there no longer available. But...I have been happy with the performance.
