3.0 to 3.2 swap

could i use 1986 3.2 cyl/piston set on my 79 3.0sc motor to make a 3.2 short stroke motor

I have never performed the procedure but believe the pistons are the same diameter for each engine and the 86 3.2 gets the increased capacity from crank throw. 3.2 short stroke requires fatter pistons and cylinders to make up for decreased crankshaft travel.
