I will really miss Paul and his zest for for all things fast...as is life...too fast. I knew him from high school and was a room mate in Phinney ridge in Seattle. He was always very nice and wanted the best for everyone and you felt he was there for you. Great friend and comrade, I am truly blessed to have known him and he taught me to take a big bite out of life! I have always thought of him when I drive over 100 MPH and when I eat Haagen-Dazs coffee ice cream, to this day and forever. RIP.

Thank you Sally, Laura, and Mark for having a great memorial for him. It was great to meet you and share. I know you were proud of him and he will be truly missed as a man and a car dude, truly an original...

This is so sad, my condolences to the family.

My first day at the track about 18yrs ago Paul was there working out a fire spitting turbo. A great guy, approachable, big smile and open with his advice.

And I always think of his iconic shop when going to Seattle, the Denny Wy exit and his building painted in the Porsche (German flag) colors

Thanks,

Allan

I only just heard of Paul's passing. I met Paul at Queen Anne High School in the late 70's. It was clear back then that Paul was a big-hearted, good-natured, warm and fun-loving guy and a generous soul. We both were interested in cars, and, in-particular, European cars, which was very unusual for our high school back then. I would argue that the Lotus Elan Sprint was the best car ever. Graciously, he would acknowledge the positive attributes of the Lotus, but that the Porsche was superior because it was built better. The funny thing is he had this Ford Fairlane that he was building and hot-rodding up, I think he built up a 390. I picked up a 914 as my first car, and Paul helped me out a couple of times with it. I worked at a fancy Seattle restaurant, Canlis, parking cars to put myself through college. One night a customer came in with an overheating 911. I called Paul, and he figured out the problem over the phone and came out in the middle of his evening and fixed the guys car while he enjoyed dinner with his party. Paul would stop by Canlis every now and then to show off his latest ride and shoot the breeze. Those were wilder times, and one night Paul drove his Turbo into the parking lot at a high rate of speed from the opposite oncoming lanes (which was quite an impressive and lucky maneuver to pull off) and quickly parked the car in the obscured lower lot. The police were in pursuit; the evasive maneuver was a success. It has been decades since I have seen Paul. I would visit his shop from time to time, and it was always good to see him. He always had that genuine warm smile -- he was truly a for real good guy and he will be missed.

Walter_Middie,

I didn't know Paul personally but hearing the stories about him I feel honored to hang the frame on my car. A good guy who should be remembered.
