AAR Specifications

I did a search and couldn't find what I was looking for.

A few weeks ago I was diagnosing a car and decided to to check the AAR. Then I checked a couple more I had laying around. They all seems to test at about 16 ohms. But if I recall that was about half of what they should have been. I also seem to recall they were not closing (or opening- I forget which) all the way.

Is this pretty much unacceptable? Is there a way to fix these things? Looks like they were not designed to come apart (but since when has that ever stopped us)?

They come apart, drill the rivets. However they are externally adjustable as well, just remove the metal plug, it works like adjusting a WUR. Take measurements before you adjust with a caliper.

Thanks Scott. I figured it was something like that. What do you replace the rivets with?

Tony

It was a few weeks ago and now I'm not sure what I dd with the spares. I'll let you know when I find one. I do know the ones I tested were off a 2.7S, 3.0 carrera, and '79 SC, and maybe a '82 930.

Just some small nuts and bolts. Somewhere there is a thread from way back with a guy that rebuilt the heating element.

James,

The Bosch numbers should be something like these.....0-280-140-???. The last three (3) digits would identify a specific Bosch AAR.

I'll see if I can't find it.
