1974 Targa roll bar black or brushed aluminum?
From what I've read the 1974 Targa and later had black roll hoops as standard, but the earlier brushed aluminum style roll hoops were still an option. I've not seen this option listed anywhere in Porsche option brochures for 1974 or 1975. How did a customer choose the finish of the roll hoops? Was it based on whether they had black or chrome trim selected as an option? I believe the black Targa roll hoops were a black paint, not black anodized, correct? Inquiring minds!

My 1977 invoice says the trim blackout package was extra (an option), I'm pretty sure this covers the Targa bar too.

My recollection was, in the US, 1977 was the year you could get either black or brushed. Not sure if standalone option or part of a larger "package".

My '78 is brushed. I believe brushed was standard, black was an option up thru '78, then black became standard with '79 modeol
