1970T Barn find spark issues, points?

Hi gentleman-

Getting closer to firing up the 1970T barnfind. Got a new battery, cleaned the fuel tank, replaced all the fuel lines, rebuilt fuel pump. Today we had a meter on the the distributor, had power to the wires on the distributor, CDI box was humming, but no power to the coil...... determined that points were not showing voltage. Is it necessary to remove the dizzy to get to the second screw/nut on the underside of the distributor to remove the points?

First of all, WOW, what a neat looking find.
Secondly, if it were me i would remove the disi, and inspect it properly, replace or adjust the points, change any condensor fitted for a new one, and refit using static timing marks to start with.

Check your wires from the CD box to the dist and coil for continuity because the white wires covered in steel cover grounds do break down and ground out the spark to the coil or the points.

the points on my 73 are secured by one screw accessible from the top side. not necessary to remove the dizzy to swap out points. Bill K

And put some wood (or something) under those jack stands so they don't sink in the dirt.
Hate to have a body find under your barn find.

Thanks to all for your assistance. Bill K there is one points attachment screw on the top of the Dizzy which I removed but there is also one below in a impossible location. I will check for continuity Bruce. Bill, That red dirt is like stone. The dirt is flood run off over gravel. Safety first. When is doubt pin it.

Thanks for all of your advice, I removed the dizzy, cleaned the points surfaces and with a little luck she fired up, had to use a marine tank, still in the trenches with the tank that sat for 18 years but she runs...the Zeniths leaked badly from the accelerator pumps but she sounded smooth.....next project is to re-build the zeniths, if any cares to offer pointer I'm all ears. Does this number ID the engine?

that's a part number for the (looks like) individual cylinder.
the sn for the case is under the alternator fan on a vertical protrusion on the passenger side
