Question Piston question?

This is my first rebuild and I have a ton of books -- but I have a question. When installing the pistons, I believe the part of the piston which is concave is toward the top of the engine and the part which potrudes is towards the bottom. Is this correct? for both sides?

Yeah, they say the "flat" spot should fact the intake valve, which may be misleading. The small flat spot does indeed face the intake valve, which means the huge concave part faces the exhaust valve.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but if you have to ask that question, then you don't have enough sources of information on rebuilding your engine. The answer to that question is in many books, including the Bentley manuals, and the factory manuals too (and in my book, but it's not out yet).

Stock up on information, as you cannot have enough when rebuilding your engine. As good as this board is, you have to know the right questions to ask to get the answers that you need...
