Heat exchanger: what's this for ??
Just noticed that my left heat exchanger has an unused (as in open) connection at the top (see below)... What's this for ?

Graham is corect; This is the heat outlet used to heat the thermostat on a MFI pump. This was used 1969-1973 MFI and a few later MFI engines. It is simply plugged when used on a non-MFI engine. Now, all spare left heat exchangers come with this. Best, Grady
