Interior finally back together.
The Traffic Pro was a fairly easy install, with the only hard part determining which wire I needed to tap to get the speed signal. As it turns out, what year the car is matters as to which speedo wire is the one. In the case of 1985 Carrera, the green wire is the speed signal. Thank you Robert Bentley.
![]() I tried to attach a couple of photos to show what the thing looked like in the dash, but the photos never would attach. So, to get a good idea of how it looks, image how a CDR-220 looks in the dash. The front is the same, other than the printing. Porsche vs. Harmon-Kardon (still a Becker unit everywhere else in the world) and Traffic Pro vs. CDR-220. The GPS antenna covers a crack propagating from the passenger defrost vent, so it's good and bad that way. The small Alpine amp under the passenger seat is attached with big patches of velcro - I had a tough time pulling it up to reposition, so it's on there pretty securely. The wire runs were all pretty easy, and policing up all the old wiring was sure a pleasure. ![]() Last edited by SilberUrS6; 06-11-2012 at 09:00 PM.. |

OK, here's a shot of the whole bit - antenna on the dash, and the lights off. I should go to the garage with the camera on a tripod and take a pic of the thing with the dash lights on.
![]() OK so here's a closer shot of how the thing looks in the dash - again, this is lights off. Image would be reversed with the instrument lights on. ![]() |
