How to replace the handbrake cable back onto the equalizer yoke?

Just replaced both rear wheel bearings and one wheel hub, buttoned everything up and the handbrake does not work. The drivers side handbrake cable has come off the equalizer yoke and after a couple of hours with flashlights, hooks, thin screwdrivers and a lot of swearing I cannot get the cable eye back onto the yoke. Any suggestions welcome.

Sound exactly how mine went - although the only step I added was loosening up the keeper bracket quite a bit.

Did you remove the seats? I had some problems with the e-brake handle in my SC... If I recall access was very tricky without taking out the passenger seat.

You will most likely have to take the ebrake plate off to get it back on, at least thats what I did. The best thing to do is loosen the ebrake cables all the way, get them on the yoke then have some one lower the lever in to the hole while you tighten the cables. Its tough and has to be done with care but I have found that is the best way to do it. I did not have to take out any seats to do it.

Thanks for the advice folks, I did finally take out the drivers seat although access would be better taking out the passenger seat. I had the car on jackstands to one side and it was easier to take out the drivers seat.
