911 dansk sport muffler?

I have a 911sc I'm thinking about getting a dansk sport muffler.

What's the difference in the stainless and alumanized.

Is there any sound difference of just the price?
any power increase?
thanks!

Just the price and a couple pounds.

Also the stainless has larger tips (84mm)

Ok thanks I was trying to justify spending the extra money on the stainless. But looks like I don't have a choice. The aluminized is out of stock till August =(

Anyone know where else I can order one? Single inlet single outlet. 79sc.

I purchased the "painted stainless" for about $400 less than the polished. Then I spent $100 and had it ceramic coated. Runs cooler and looks like the polished muffler.

What the heck is painted stainless?

After 25+ years of manufacturing/selling commercial food service equipment, which is heavily based on S/S, I've never heard of such a thing.

No difference in sound or performance. Some believe that the stainless lasts longer... I know it's certainly MORE expensive though... Stainless doesn't rust? Stop by an airport near the beach, or a boat yard... You may be surprised...

Pelican sells a stainless muffler that is just stainless and not polished. They paint it primer gray and the cost is about $400 less than the polished version (same muffler). I guess you may be unfamiliar because most people don't want a primered refrigerator.

Here's a photo of mine before I had it ceramic coated:

Stainless steel can develop rust. It is much less likely to rust but it can still rust. Leave a wet cast iron skillet in a stainless steel sink and you'll see a rusted ring in your sink. The stainless steel didn't rust but the pan stained the surface and it will not be easy to remove.

It is also possible for stainless steel to corrode (rust). There are over 150 grades of stainless steel and some are more prone to corrosion than others. Generally, the higher the chromium content, the less likely the steel will rust. However, over time, rust can and will develop on stainless steel. To prevent stainless steel from rusting, you need to passivate it. Passivating stainless steel is a process that allows stainless steel to retain its corrosion resistance.

I bought my very slightly used Dansk Stainless "one in one out" here on the Pelican used parts board for about 450.00 plus shipping if I remember correctly. It has been making me smile ever since. Sounds (to me) much better to me than the Bursch that it replaced.

Thanks for the idea, Tidy! Mine is off to the coater as we speak.

Once it's back, I will be installing it (with some SSI's) along with a clutch.

I currently have a 1-in-1-out Dansk that I will be putting up for sale once it's off the car since it doesn't work with the SSI's.
Cheers!

I had the big outlet 2 in 1 out SS on my SC. Sweet muffler. I'd buy that again any day.
