Help, brakes are locked after changing the rotors, pads and fluid

I just changed the rotors pads and fluid to the upgraded BRP pads and cross drilled rotors, also used the blue magic brake fluid. I did all this in preperation for my first track day (this Fri). After the job the brakes seemed fine. I got home applied the emergency brake to open my garage and the brakes engaged and i can not dis engage them. Any body????? The emergency lever went back down like normal but the brakes stayed locked. Help!!!!

What did you do relative to the rear rotors and the e-brake? There is a process you need to go through to adjust the e-brakes. If you did not interface with the indexing wheel inside the rear drum (i.e., adjust it) that may be your issue.

Not a hard procedure. Pull the caliper, look in the drum hole and find the wheel. Use a good sized screwdriver to adjust it enough to spin the rotor/drum. I used a big phillips head. You will need a good flashlight unless you are a kid and your eyesight is awesome then an average flashlight will work.

Then, if you are inclined, you can find the procedure for adjusting the e-brakes so the pulling mechanism between the seats is centered properly. That will require adjustment of the e-brake cables that are close, but outside the rear brakes.

Pretty simple but a time soak if it's your first time.

All I did was change out all the rotors, pads and fluid. Bled them like a normal car. This is my first Porsche brake job. So I need to go through this procedure? This is standard?

How does the pedal feel? Are the pistons still extended or is it just the e-brake hanging up?

If the pistons are extended and holding you might have brake lines breaking down inside where they look good but wont let the fluid release back.

there's only a couple of places that can cause the binding. The e-cable path or under the rotors. Im betting under the rotors.

How many clicks did it take to activate the brakes?

you may need to back off the ebrake at the star adjuster. the e brake pads grab the inside of the rear rotors. requires removing rear wheel and a long screwdriver. the procedure is covered in a tech article on the host site. first determine whether front brakes are locked by jacking up front and seeing if wheels spins (if not problem is likely e brake).

Yeah baby. Gotta be the answer as they hydraulic stuff is normally not going to cause an issue.

I must be the e brake issue you refer to. The brakes were working fine until I engaged the e brake.
