Brake cooling through RS bumper
I have a 73 with an RS fg bumper. I also have a Carrera cooler so don't need the additional cooling for my 3.0 engine. My question is, has anyone used the front knock out panel for brake cooling? It seems possible but not certain it is a good idea from an aero perspective. My car is 70/30 track/street. Thoughts?

yes sure why not! host has a disk cooling kit and all you need is a pair of scoops to fiberglass on the bumper inlets connected with ducting. sounds like a good project. Pegasus racing might have a scoop

S Bumper Brake ducts
Developed these for the fiberglass "S" bumper. $40 for the pair.

I would prefer to not put holes near the lip as I fear a drop in front downforce. I may play around with my orrigional thought and report back. James, thanks for the suggestion to look at Pegasus.

There is an RS front spoiler with brake ducts, you won't lose any significant downforce. What tail are you running for it to be so critical?

I have a duck tail and have felt my front become very light going into turn 10a at Road Atlanta so am sensitive to reducing my front aero. I wasnt aware of a RS bumper with brake ducts, I will do a search.

For anyone interested, I found a Getty Design RS "S" front bumper with brake ducts. Interestingly, it includes a front splitter as well. This looks to be a good alternate strategy.
