O2 Sensor - OK to Run Disconnected?

I just installed SSI's and still need to lengthen the wire to connect the oxygen sensor. Is it OK to drive the car with it disconnected? How will it affect the car and how it drives?

The car will default to running rich, but will otherwise be ok until you get the wire lengthened. You may smell a fuel odor from the exhaust--maybe slightly reduced fuel economy--no biggy.
