help a fellow car enthusiast

Hello all... I know this is not the proper forum but it needs to go out to as many people as possible.
A good friend, (and probably the most knowledgeable Alpha Romeo mechanic/enthusiast in North America), had the rolling chassis of his 1969 1750GTV stolen from a trailer in Auburn Washington. Jim shipped the chassis from New Jersey to a shop there to be restored. This is really a sad case of someone stealing a trailer without knowing the valuable contents of it. The trailer was taken the evening of March 1st of 07'.
Here are the particulars: 2DR. Coup, chassis # AR1367053, (located on the right center of the firewall). The body had been sandblasted, and primed in a 'olive drab' epoxy primer while being stored in the trailer. Trailer is 28' enclosed.
This isn't any run of the mill Alpha. Jim has all the documentation stating it's delivery destination, (Germany for all of us P-Car guys)etc. etc. It's also a rare interior/exterior color combination, (gray exterior, red interior).
Obviously the car has monetary value because of it's rarity and matching numbers, but as we all can relate to, it's personal value to the owner.
Here are a couple of picture, and more are available if needed.

If anyone has information please pm or email me.
One last plea... please treat this request as it was a 356 chassis or the like stolen. We could only wish Jim was a Porsche enthusiast for his knowledge and love of cars.
Thank you all.

That sucks! Any photos of the outside of the trailer? Anything special or obvious about it, graphics previous damage etc.?

I'll keep my eyes open out here in CA.

Cooper thank you very much. No, unfortunately there are no pics of the outside of the trailer. As for previous damage... the car itself had a small dent on the roof, drivers side, that was filled with bondo. But since the car had been primed prior to the theft it may not show.

Yes I agree a pic of the outside of the trailer would be of tremendous help. I'll try to get one but as I posted he didn't have a picture of it.

Hate stuff like this. Any chance it was someone who did know what was inside and maybe worked close by?

Terrible, I hope he gets it back.

I did notice he has a 911 front license plate.

What's in the trailer isn't going to look too valuable to the thiefs, most likely. Best case, they dragged it out and dumped it somewhere and are trying to fence the trailer. Hope he gets the Alfa back in reasonable condition. The trailer's probably gone for good.

Jay, we'd like to think it was stolen for the trailer only but yes I suppose someone knew. Defcon65, that's what the thought is... they just wanted the trailer and dumped the body & the rear clip somewhere.
BTW, Jims trying to get a few pics of the outside of the trailer.

Year: 1995
Make: Pace
Model: America
Vin#: 40LWB424SP030698
If anyone does have information it will be treated as confidential and can email me.
Thank in advance

Resurrecting this old thread just to update y'all on the outcome.
Although the trailer was eventually found, the car wasn't. After about a year of negotiating with the insurance company (their initial settlement wouldn't have bought a new steering wheel! ), an agreement was reached, a check received and it cleared. Part of the funds were used to 'refresh' a 1971 1750 GTV that was already in the stable (the build can be seen here).
With the 'new' Alfa having just been completed, driven to the National Alfa Convention in Canada last week, tracked, autocrossed and driven back to Jersey, I think I can consider the chapter of the stolen GTV to be closed while a new chapter opens on this car.
