help finding simple part

Hey everybody! Attached is a picture of some rubber trim I need to replace. The trim is on the inside edge of the chassis in the sun roof. It goes under the interior and is pretty thin. Does anyone know where I can get some of this?

On another note, what is the best adhesive for attaching interior vinyl? Isn't it like a contact cement or something? This is my first time fixing the interior on any car and I'm fixing the sun roof.

Thanks for any help.

-P

I've used 3m super 77 spray adhesive with good results to reattach a headliner before. Comes in handy for other **** too. Just be sure to clean out the tip when you're done Spray both surfaces, let dry momentarily and press together. Easy peasy.

Can't help with your other question. Sorry.

Okay, thanks for the adhesive answer. I may have some of that 3M stuff in my bin of sprays too.

Nobody on the rubber trim/weather stripping eh?

3M makes a better adhesive for headliners, Super 77 does let go in the heat (ask me how I know), I got it at friendly local auto body supply shop. He said "oh don't use this on your headliner, you want the good stuff" and went into the back and brought me out a can.

I will see if I can find it and post the name. I believe it was still 3M stuff.

It does not get very hot where I live so I wouldn't have experience with this issue. If it's 65° out, that's considered a "hot" day.

My apologies, OP. I am wrong.

Picture is from 84-86 PET. Number 14. Listed as "beading". I'm assuming it's there to keep from cutting the headliner.

Part Number is 911 564 465 00.

If you want to avoid the possible mess of spray adhesive around your interior you can look into 3M 08011. Weatherstrip adhesive in a tube you can brush on. Works for flocked sunroof seals should work for the edges of your headliner.
