Baby car seats for Porsches?
Wondering if anyone has advice on best brand/type of car seats fit best in our Porsches.
I'm referring to the forward facing standard or convertible types for 1-2 years olds + My boys aren't big enough for the booster type yet, but that's coming. Some of the car seats are so big that the porsche seat bolsters make it impossible to fit in. Many thnaks

Hello. I believe one model is called a Romer Prince? If you do a search here there are a few threads on this subject. I don't think the above model requires modification.

If I recall correctly Britax made (makes?) one specifically for Porsche. I'm looking too, because at 1 1/2 years old, my son LOVES my 911. He sits on my lap and watches YouTube videos of 911 RS's and RSR's, and I'm sure he'd love to be able to ride in my car. Now I just gotta re-do one of the rear seat belts since I just removed them...

We started with a Britax rear facing seat, very secure fit -without the base- only using the lap belts in my SC. This was good until around year year old.
![]() He really enjoyed getting into the forward facing seat. I decided to buy this ROMER prince from Europe, this was a good fit also, some people suggested this design was unsafe, but I think it is probably fine. ![]() When he outgrew this seat I bought a COSCO (you can search the forums for the model) which was a good fit but you need to have the upper tether mount installed for a secure fit. There are plenty of very informational threads on Pelican and Rennlist on baby seat installation for various 911 models. Good luck, the 911 can be a very practical family car (at least it was for us)!

You could search other European ebay countries as well... I don't see any at the moment, I think the model is a ROMER Prince

Hey thanks Dan - good find! I just asked if he would be willing to ship. Looks like he prefers local pickup at a small town in UK.

Actually, Draco, I once took my sister in law with her two 18 year old twins from Los Angeles to Tijuana twenty years ago in my 79 Targa! The twins took the back seats of course. On the way back I let my nephew drive, so I ended up in the back seat. It was not terribly comfortable but possible at 6', 175 pounds!

I have one that fits great (almost perfect) once you remove the tilting base (easy, just a few clips and remove a metal bar) it is a britax, marathon I think, the tilting base is there to Allow to mount rear facing as well so if you go fwd facing, no need for it. It looks pretty big in the box, but once the base is off, perfect!

Would you mind providing a picture? Also, do you use a rear tether?

I've got a Maxi Cosi Pria. Fits perfect and easy to find. Drilled a tether into the rear shelf behind the speaker to prevent it from going forward.

I will post a picture tonight. For rear tether, I use the bolt holding the seat back. When it is very tight, it holds it down good with the shape of the seat and does not allow it to tilt forward at all

Child safety is paramount!!!
Excellent choice! The seat base is approximately 11 x 12
![]() Britax marathon ![]() Porsche child seat by britax aka as romer priNce ![]() Friendly reminder: if your child will join you for a ride, please make sure that the seats are up to date, mounted correctly and safely...Child seats are like milk...they have expiration dates...make sure they are not at the seats product EOL ...plus most parents of babies and infants are sleep deprived...worst that driving drunk with micro sleep... Drive safe

Britax Marathon
Sorry for the delay, I believed that I had pictures but not... So I had to take it out of the Jeep, remove the base and then install it in the Porsche. Here it is:
Remove the base by removing the 2 black clips and the metal rod (not that easy, the clips holding the base can be removed buy taping the head to prevent the clip part from opening inside the plastic, you will understand when you do it) ![]() ![]() ![]() This is the rear tether strap attached on the seat back bolt ![]() Now when it is installed. Due to the distance between the rear of the seat and the seatbelt brackets, I had to run the seatbelt in the hole normally used when installing the seat rear facing. I tested it all and it is very safe and when you tighten everything up, it all holds tight and solid. ![]() ![]() And finally on my way to a track week-end at Pacific Raceways with my family... The rear facing seat also fits but it requires the seat back on that side to be removed and the passenger seat to be almost completely forward. The Britax Marathon behind the driver seat fits perfect and I could leave my seat where I normally have it and my kid has enough room for his legs. I hope this helps David

Thanks for posting info on the Pelican forums about CHILD seats for 911s. Does anyone have any feedback about specific models of INFANT seats? I want to bring my future son and wife home from the hospital in Sept in my 87 Carrera coupe. I am looking for info on specific models of seats that will fit in the back of my 911. I want to give my son a cool story about being brought home from the hospital in a classic 911.
Hopefully the same car he will drive some day too. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks! Richard
