Dansk vs m&k
I am looking at either the Dansk non-stainless sport muffler in 1in/1out or the m&k 1in/1out.
Has anyone had both? What would the sound difference be between the two? I will run this with a cat bypass pipe on my 3.2 carrera. Thanks for any advice! |

I just installed my M&K 2-in 1-out but have yet to fire it up. Getting close to reinstalling the engine any day now and will let you know.

the M&K 1 in 1 outs are not overly aggresive sounding infact I have always felt a bit too quiet until I adapted them to work for the 964 i drive and now I think its the perfect sound level. the dansk is fine to but heavier and sound quality is not as good but I am biased

Partial to the M&K as well. It has a nice low growl at part throttle cruising, and a great howl at full throttle. It is more than liveable. I have the premuffler as well.
Thanks, Ben! |

I have the M&K 2in 1out and like it. Throaty sound, not overwhelming. Nicely Engineered.

I have a Dansk 1-1 on my carrera 3.0 and my friendgot a MK 1-1 on his 3.2.
I like my Dansk, but both weight and sound is better on the MK. If I had to buy again, I'd take the MK. |

With you there. Have a Dansk, friend has a MK which I too really like the sound of. But when I was shopping for a new exhaust, Ben was a few years to go before he built his first one.

When I bought my Dansk I lived just 10 miles from the factory and my mech was testing Dansk stuff. Hadn't heard of Brian or Ben at the time. Now I have. I have seen te quality of the products, how they perform and not least outstanding customer support.

I have used both the Dansk and M&K (2 in 1 out) on a 72 MFI. M&K definitely louder and lighter. Switched back to Dansk because of backfiring issues. The M&K was a bit too loud for my wife and neighbors. Planning on selling it if anyone is interested

Dansk is the OE supplier to Porsche for these older mufflers. With the Dansk muffler, you're getting the muffler in the original configuration design, as it was intended for the vehicle. Not a muffler that just happens to fit in the confinements.

M&K mufflers don't just happen to fit the confinements, they were designed specifically for the Porsche 911 as a durable light weight sport oriented alternative to stock.

I just picked up a used Dansk 2 in 2 out. I love the sound of the car and my only complaint is it does drone very loud between 1,800-2,100 but anywhere else it is music to my ears.
Here is a link to the sound. 911 Dansk 2 in 2 out - YouTube

Here is the M&K RarlyL8 Cat Bypass + 1 in 1 out on my '88. It was a little too loud for NYC daily driving. Replaced the bypass with a pre-muffler and it is much more to my liking. No sound clip yet though. Very happy with fit, finish, mounting hardware and customer service. Purchased from Brian/Ben in May.

Have tried both M&K 2-1 and Dansk Sport 2-1 and I found the M&K way too noisy for everyday use. I hesitated to drive it to the office because of the noise so early. The sound from the Dansk is just right for a Porsche and fine wrt noise level. There are three parameters;
1) sound quality (does it sound like a Porsche or a ricer? 2) noise level (will everyone turn their heads to watch that 'racing car' ?) 3) performance
