993 tranny only shifts into R, 1, 3 and 5

I was driving today and the tranny locked me out of 2nd, 4th and 5th gear. It shifts perfectly into the other gears. Any ideas?

Coupler ?

also, there is a linkage pivot fork in the tranny which, if loose, will cause that type of problem. (happened to my 915)

#6 comes loose from #5 at one end, causing the pivot to work n only one direction. (again, this is for the 915 ...your 993 may be quite different)

Could it be the pivot shift bushings?

That's what I was going to say. After I replaced my coupler (prior to proper adjustment) I "lost" those gears too.
