2012 Monterey Historics Wine Tour Drive / Fun Run to Hahn Winery 8/17!!!!!!
It is that time again - 2012 Fun Run to Hahn.
This is a fabulous drive to and from Hahn. Wayne was so kind to start this in 2009 and I have tried to keep it going the past few years. The drive has grown each of the past two years and expectations of this years drive being the largest yet. In 2010 the 2nd Annual Pelican drive was cancelled. I thought I would continue the drive to drive that was so much fun. Let me be clear, this is not a Pelican sponsored event - rather something I have organized for us to enjoy! There is enough room for about 40 cars - so please email me directly (and post here so others will know) at porschecab@comcast.net so I can keep a tally. Yes, non-Porsche cars are also welcome. The drive will be August 17th, 2012. We will meet at 8:30AM Safeway (same parking lot as last year) and the drive will be the same journey as last year and commence at the lovely Hahn Winery (as last year). 2011 was a VERY spirited drive through the backcountry of Monterey, ending up at the picturesque Hahn Estates Winery. The roots of the Hahn Estates Winery date back to the Hahn family’s European heritage. It is a fantastic drive and those that went in 2009, 2010, and 2011 had a blast and those that missed it, well, missed it. I have worked with the wonderful folks at Hahn and have made some special arrangements to use the tasting room - parking lot - tables - etc. There are several picnic benches and such for all of us to use, but we will have to bring our own food & drinks. COST = $0.00. There will be NO COST to join us - but you must contact me so I can keep count. Attached is the route and details. Several of us will plan on being there at 8.30/8.45 with a departure (after buying sandwiches at Safeway) around the 9.15 hour. Start: Safeway Parking Lot 104 Mid Valley Center Carmel, CA 93923 Finish: Hahn Winery Estates 37700 Foothill Road Soledad, CA 93960 Safeway to Hahn Estates - Google Maps Here is a link to the run last year, more photos: Monterey Historics Wine Tour Drive / Fun Run to Hahn Winery 8/19!!!!!! 2012 Monterey Hahn wine tour
Well Guys it's that time of year again; "The Monterey Historic's" and the now famous yearly Hahn Wine Tour on Friday morning. I know Dan (Mr Pickles}is working on the details and Craig will as always be ready for a morning drive.
Not rain, shine, or dark of night would keep me from running! We already have our home in Pebble and my group will be up on the 14th-20th. I'm in and it's something not to miss if your in Monterey for race week. ![]() Cheers!!!!!art agrimmitt@pelican 7/15 Sun 9am pst |

I think just Dan, myself and you are the only one's to have been at every one of the events; including the original one put on by Wayne as part of Pelican. When Porsche was the "mark" for the Historic's that first year, and the world showed up! It will be good so see you again and what improvements you have done to the car. I have done a few "adjustments" to mine since last years run. Be Well art agrimmitt@pelican Last edited by agrimmitt; 07-15-2012 at 10:30 PM.. |

I was on the first tour, the Pelican tour, and it was a blast. I had never heard of Hahn wine before then and now I have several cases of the stuff.
I missed the next ones for various reasons and will miss this one too as I am delivering my wife, her daughter, and grand daughter to the SF airport for a girl trip to Italy. Dang! This would have been so much fun.

Craiger - that HAS to be the best sounding (and quickest) 912 I have heard or seen. wow.
Great footage - glad you opted for the sedate portion of the drive, to not attract any undo attention or scare off any potential additions to the drive! Awesome. Dan

Ya, figured I would save that for those who were there for that part of the return trip.

I'm in. But only because it's called a "Fun Run."
