Well, I turn 32 in Jan. I have a 71T, I guess that makes me older...

37, wondering if I'm arriving at the mid life crisis era, or have I passed that since buying the 86 Carrera Cab?.
Of course non of us have accounted for the age of maturity when we climb into the Porsche and turn the key!!!!
Or when we pass by a muscle/rice car!!
How old are we then?

Cool

Ned--afraid not! I'm old enuf to be your daddy, dammit!! Am at that age where you can't remember what happened to the '29 model A roadster that you left behind when you entered WWII. THAT was a poor man's sports car back then! Was 42 when I got my very first Porsche back in late '66. Stepped up (or back!) to an 86 Targa now and have enjoyed every minute of owning them. Will be 77 in December--and I'm claiming old man honors here unless some other old fart is luring out there waiting to knock me off! If there is, I'm challenging him/her to a race!

i was born in march of 1975 (i'm 26).

the 924 rolled off the line in August of 1979.
the 944 was finished in January of 1984.
the Scirocco 16V was made in August of 1987.

the only car i ever owned that was older than me was "big merc"... our 1970 Mercedes 280SEL. man that car kicked ass.

Born In 62.

I bought my first 911 when I was sixteen....CASH!

Drove the car for 21 days and I was not able to get insurance. My insurance agent said, "Yoh, kid! You may be able to pay cash for that car but you won't be able to pay even the monthly insurance for it! Ending was ..... sell! sell! sell! I was heart-broken.

I'll be 50 real soon, don't know where the years went. The tighter you squeeze to slow them down, the faster they slip through your fingers like oil under a valve cover gasket.
First 911 I drove was a 69T in 1971. Got hooked. Bought my first one in 76, it was a 74. Newest 911 I've owned. Been through 25+ in the years between. Keep coming back to 1973 S cars. Wouldn't change a thing.

My car is an 83 SC with 155k miles. It needs paint, a trany rebuild, leaks oil now and then. It runs like a champ (on 92 octane)once warmed up though.
I'm a '63 with a few miles myself. I need hair dye and a tummy tuck. If I don't go easy on the mexican food, I may leak a little gas now and then. Feed me some 92 cabernet, warm me up and I will also run like a champ (my wife can attest to this!)

Okay, I'll admit it...I can remember when dirt was rocks! I'm a 1943 model, my '72 S was built in July of that year. But Todd and I have memories to share. He knows why I'd rather take my mom's Rambler wagon on a date to the drive in movies than my '50 Ford coupe with dual strombergs and high compression heads. Anybody born after, say 1970, want to guess why?

Ok, since the last post is less than a month old and this is a topic I'm interested in so I'll bite.

Mine is a 1973 914 2.0, I'm 27 hurtling mercilessly towards 30.

Yes I bought it because it was made in 1973, I'll have to go back and double check which month. I'm an 08.

Great to hear your parents didn't help you out! I bought my first pcar at 19, a 1966 912 and with my dad's help, not money, restored it to what it is today. Currently I've got a 78 911 that is one year older than me and will receive the same treatment. I hate the fact that people always assume that "mommy and daddy" bought the car, but it makes it all the more satisfying when you can say you pay for everything yourself!!!
