Feedback...driving your 911

Does driving your 911 occasionally and not hard cause engine issues over time. The reason I ask is because I only drive my '82sc about 15-20 miles a week. Weekend toy + new father leaves little time.

Haven't noticed any with mine. As long as you get the engine up to temp for a few miles/minutes and burn off the water in the exhaust and oil then you are fine. Make sure to redline it at least once at that time as well.

Babies are wonderful! I would advise finding someone to take the baby for one evening a week. Then take you girl out to eat, somewhere half an hour out (or take the long way). The car will get to stretch its legs, and the rest of the week will be a little better.

You can get a little time away from the little one plus time to spend with the new mother, and keep the car happy too!

The important thing is to dirve it long enough to get all the moisture that condenses in the oil to evaporate. It's also important to keep the gas fresh. I use Stabil for the new gas/alcohol mixture.

Driving it under 4k is not really driving it... You need to drive it close to red line once in awhile. This is good for the engine.

My advice is to keep it up. It gets easy to skip a week, then two weeks, then several months, etc. to take your car out. When this happens the engine seals may dry up and you may open your garage one day to find a ton of oil on the floor (it did for me after a few months for non-use, when previously I was driving my car about once every two weeks). Good luck with your new addition.

I would suggest beginning the process of getting a carseat for the back. I am working on install of 3 point rear belts and have located carseats that will fit. Also, I find time to go for rides solo after kids in bed and while wife is discovering who is America's Next whatever... The only problem is that I need to push it out of the garage before starting it and coast into the garage upon my return, but worth every minute on the road.
