How to seal this fuel fitting?

I am putting an EFI system on my '67. Already ran a 3/8" fuel line for high pressure and plan to use the original line for the return.

Bought a 6-AN to 22mm adapter to connect to the fuel tank fittings...should I use tape to seal the 22mm side? Just a washer and friction?

Any advice appreciated!

TIA,

John

Flat to flat sealing surface? Use a compression sealing washer. Check your torque settings. Should be similar to the oil tank settings for same size bolt and sealing washer.
Then again, there are only o-rings on my mocal oil cooler...

I had a seep from my fuel line feeding the tank that was resolved after using Teflon tape on the threads. The fiber compression washer wasn't quite enough.

That looks like an alloy fitting. Be carefully not to over tighten it. You'll feel it let go if you do and I don't know what torque setting to use.

Can you get the same fitting in steel?

Use an Aluminum Drain Plug Washer. Should be available locally. Perhaps a bit of loctite on the threads as well. Use the type not affected by gas.

Great, thanks for the suggestions guys!

I went to my local hardware store but they didn't have any aluminum washers that would fit, but did have o-rings that seem to work. Will let you know...

I'd only use the o-ring if the fitting pictured has a groove cut in it for an o-ring to seat.
Otherwise get an aluminum crush washer from Pelican or any hydraulic line repair shop.
