Talking 911 rear spoiler

Just had to post this pic

I know it's a fast 911, but it looks ridiculous.

Not to compare a Porsche to a Plymouth but reminds me of a '70 Superbird.

It's so they can tow it away after he wads it up!

You guys have it all wrong, The spoiler is dual purpose.
1- the guy is a hunter and uses it for a tree stand.
2- to keep all of us amused

I had the same impression until I saw cars with wings like that run on a big track this weekend.
These cars were serious, and were only interested in going fast. They would not install a wing like that unless they were functional.
I would not put a wing like that on my car, unless it was a GT3, but if it was I would consider it manditory equipment.

With the dawn of the Rice Age, everyone loves to make fun of big wings, but 99% of the 911s I've seen with wings like this were the Real Deal. I've seen lots of early 70's 911s with 993 body kits and wings similar to this one, and on the street, they look silly, but just try and keep up with one on the track. I know *I* couldn't! When I worked at Alldata, I saw the Head Honcho's 930 with a similar wing, and I made some smart-ass remarks to some co-workers about it, until one of them (who was said Head Honcho's personal wrench) informed me the car had close to 600HP...

The ring poking out of the back is a tow hoop, a technical requirement.

Oh this car is indeed "the real thing". It's a Ruf CTR2. 0-62 mph in 3.6 seonds top speed above 200 mph. It has the power to back up the looks so technically it's not rice.

But it looks like rice even if it isn't.

As I have always said, image is everthing and if rice is what you want, rice is what you get.

But something's missing...where's the Asian babe?

Now there's a Photo Shop opportunity.

Yikes!

If that wing is effective at 200mph the car would have its front wheels of the ground.

In other words; it may not be helpful, but at least it's hidious!
