electrical noise

Yesterday my radio was working fine. I removed the ac and center console on my 1985 carrera. Now the radio won't send any sound to the speakers. It turns on but all I hear is a slight electrical sound.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Did your car have a fader mounted in the center console? If so, perhaps try reconnecting it.
When I deleted my console, I reconnected the fader and hid it and the wire behind the passenger carpet.

thanks

That was absolutely it. I think the noise i'm hearing was the fuel pump since now there's no insulation from the smugglers box muffling the sound.
