My 85' 911 ROW model has a o2 sensor?! I thought this was a delete from Europe?
Thanks in advance

Also, I know the history since inception and this car:
It was imported by a Naval Officer from Germany and brought back to San Diego, CA. in 1986. Would that be why there would be a O2 sensor? CA regulations that is? Just curious is all...

Posting the VIN, Engine # or engine type will solve your mystery.

It has an O2 because when it was imported into CA, they required it be added along with a catalytic converter and a number of other items including door reinforcements. Some were done well, others pretty shoddy. I had an 85 Row that came into San Diego.

Yep, required by CA. I have one.

I have an '84 RoW Coupe that used to have an O2 sensor, catalytic converter, an evaporation canister of sorts in the driver's side rear wheel well, and red tail lights. The O2 sensor was not actually hooked up to the computer--the wire just terminated after it left the engine compartment. Trace yours back and you may find the same thing...
The rest of the "federalization" requirements on my car have been removed. Enjoy your 231 hp Euro-spec car :) |
