I've said before that I'm gonna yank my motor this winter and have one hell of a basement project with it. My question is I hear all of you guys talking about the 964 cams for SC's and such but what is the hot setup for a turbo 3 liter? It seems only obvious to do while I've got it out. I dont want anything radical but there must be some grinds out there that are just plain better? no?

That's a good question- do you have Anderson's guide? He might have cam recommendations in there.
If the change hasn't been made already, you'll definitely want to put an intercooler on there...then you can start thinking about increased/variable boost pressure, etc. Also not sure what kind of exhaust is on there, but if you've got thermal reactors, they've gotta go. But you knew all this. I'll shut up now. ![]() -d ------------------ Dave 1972 911T (E motor) RSR replica project http://members.nbci.com/dtwinters/garage/ |

I've got SC cams in my 3.3T motor.
Assume that they would be OK for a 3.0L as well, but I've never checked on that. These units are very popular for the 3.3T. What else do you have planned? |

sc, carrera, or 964 grinds all work well in 930s. the 930 cams are ground to whatever one you want. improved bottom end among other things.
