Porsche 911 Abbreviations And Acronyms

Ok, I hope this isn't too anal for you old timers. Since I joined the forum last March I have repeatedly run across abbreviations that I didn't have a clue as to what they meant. I'm slowly getting up to speed, but I thought it might be helpful for "newbies", me included to get some help to define the many abbreviations and acronyms that are used in this forum.

I talked to Wayne to see if he thought it was a good idea to create a glossary of these abbreviations. He suggested I throw it out there and see what happens. I could act as the clearing house and updating the posting of the list since I don't believe there's anyway to make this interactive.

Please give your description to any or all of the abbreviations, and add others that are out there. I'll compile each answer and include on a master list. If this idea sucks, that's OK too. Just be nice!

DDD - Dave Darling Dance (steps for diagnosing FI/ignition problems) or Damp Dave Darling
Dingle - don't ask
DE - drivers education
DCO - dumb current owner
DPO - dumb previous owner
DWD - DirkWright's Disease (if you never get through with a simple repair, due to finding other things to work on as long as you're in there, you have it)
ECC - East Coast Classic
ECR - East Coast Ramble
FAQ - frequently asked questions
FI - fuel injected or fuel injection
FLAPS - friendly local auto parts store
FOB - freight on board (basically means YOU pay shipping)

RD PANELS= a brand of replacement sheet metal (Restoration Design)
RoW= Rest of World models of Porsches
SCHNORR WASHERS = a brand of specialized washers found on CV joints that drive the rear wheels
SMUGGLER'S BOX= A compartment in the front trunk of a 911 holding nothing or air conditioning equipment. Very early 911's had a gas fired heater located in there. Also where you disconnect the steering shaft to the rack and pinion unit.
SWB= Short Wheel Base (up to '68)
SSI= a brand of replacement heat exchanger type exhaust (Stainless Steel Industries)
