Yes. I would heat it, put a wrench on it and tap it with a hammer or tap the joint directly with the hammer to loosen things, put rust penetrent on it, WAIT and hour or a day for the juice to do its job and repeat. Time is you friend. The heat causes stuff to expand/contract to loosen stuff and it also seems to draw in the penetrant. Squirting the penetrant on the joint also cools it and makes it contract. This joint is all steel so you shouldn't have that much trouble as long as you use a 2nd wrench to counter hold. The ones on the aluminum thermostat require the most patient approach.

Thanks,
Just bougth a fire-extinguisher ,minisledge hammer & 2 of the biggest wrenches in the shop. Will use the jack for support on the hard oil line and plenty of rust lubricant. Have time and patience so far.... |

Well it took a couple of days of heating, spraying, cooling, hammering but it finally came loose. Good idea to support the line with a jack otherwise i think i would have bent it.
Moving on... |
