With regards to buying these from Pelican they are swamped adding new parts to their catalogue right now but if you call a rep they can order them based on the prices and specs on our website. They will be drop shipped anywhere in the lower 48 in 6-8 weeks for $300. Once we get through the initial backlog of orders they will be 3-4 weeks like the 15" and 16" are.

I called today but not a firm commitment on availability. Is there inventory in the US?

No, not yet. We will stock a couple of sets of 930 specification and perhaps one or two SC/Carrera sets but most will be built to order and drop shipped direct from the factory in 6-8 weeks initially reducing to 3-4 weeks once we get through the back log of initial orders. This is pretty much our standard fulfillment model for all of our wheels and allows the customer to order wheels to their exact specifications rather than have them predetermined by us. No compromises.

Any thoughts on when the back log will be cleared up? That's a high quality problem you have there. Glad to hear of the immediate interest.

It's all pre-orders, about 18 sets. We still plan to ship all of those during June then we should be able to reduce lead times over the next few weeks till we get to 3-4 weeks.

Here are a few iPhone snaps I took during a recent photo shoot in Detroit. Proper pictures to follow. Yes, 17" replica wheels!

Thanks. These are 17x8, et30 with 225/47-17 and 17x9, et17 with 255/40-17.

Seems to be a good bolt on SC or Carrera setup though the front left fender can be tight if lowered.

Seriously nice wheels. I know they wouldn't "look stock" to someone who knows, but it's close, and I would love to be able to run modern high-performance tires on my narrow body '72.

Any idea if a 17" fitment will work? Seems like 17x7 with the correct offsets should fit, but I looked up the specs on Michelin PSS (for example) and 205/45-15 has tread width >0.5" wider than 205/60-15, which, if that number is accurate, makes me hesitant to just jump in and give it a try. My rear fenders are rolled, but the 215/60-15s I have there now are very tight at the tread edge. There might be room to add some to the offset to move them inboard a little, but there are the fronts to think about also.

Looking forward to you getting these out in the wild to see what works!

Thanks John.

There's some nice performance tires available in 205/50-17. I don't see why the wouldn't fit with the right offset (49?) like a 7R wheel. What offset are you running now?
