Paul, I mean from a structural, safety issue. If I took the wheels to a machine shop and had them grind it down, would it be OK from a structural perspective?

I can't recommend it Shaun but, of course, I can't stop you. I think, I understand what you are trying to achieve but look at it this way; these wheels are designed to be the lightest and strongest they can be for their intended purpose. If it didn't need to be there would it be there? After all, the wheels are for a Porsche not a Porsch

Paul,
Your wheels are beautiful but I don't have $4k. Would you like to come to Dallas, Texas for some kind of Overhaulin' type reality show? My 1979 911 SC from Germany would love a new set of those beautiful wheels! ![]()

Absolutely … another 75 degree weekend is forecasted. I'll be in Kemah, TX on 2/28 for the PCA Concours d' Elegance on 3/01. What a great venue to show your new wheels! I have won my class many many times as shown in the above pic!

Paul,
-2 is inhuman and another reason why you should come to Texas. I would be your greatest advocate! I'm very much involved in 911 and 928 PCA events throughout Texas and the Maverick Region Concour Chair. I also do Griot's Garage Tech Sessions for numerous car clubs in Dallas. I would be happy to be you spokesperson from the great state of Texas. Andy ![]()

Just a quick update to let everyone know that the prototypes passed all their lab tests with flying colors and are now moving into actual production!
If you want to modify the specs of your orders now would be the time. We’ll be contacting customers soon for balances and shipping confirmations etc. Thanks again for your support

Them circular tire holders look mighty fine! Too bad I don't need any wheels.

Regardless, think about what you're modifying here. Since it is a curled lip, it would provide some amount of structural 'input.' Wheels undergo huge forces, especially with modern tire tech. They flex quite a bit. |

Can you confirm that the example wheel is 17x11 at ET0? If so what does that wheel weigh? Can we see a pic of the back of the wheel? I'd like to see detail of the of the hub mounting area. |

Yes, is 17x11 ET0. Weighed in at 21.1lbs. I'll get backside pics later this week for you. I left it at the showroom last night but I'm not going in today.

I get it, I just think the classic Fuchs style flat faced lip is where it's at for 911s. It certainly could have been engineered into the design.

It could but it adds unnecessary material i.e. weight. These are the same as our 15" and 16" versions which have been selling like hot cakes for years so we didn't see the need to make a superfluous change just for the sake of styling.
