Control unit acceleration and enrichment

What do you folks know about this? I found it on an 82 sc wiring diagrahm, does a 1980 have it also? When does it come into play? after warm up in the closed loop mode? or is it always on line?

the oxygen sensor input is dropped when the throttle approaches wide open. the computer gets a signal from the switch on the throttle housing.

Thanks John, studying my diagrahms and tracing wires led me to that very answer, I don't know why my books jump over the 1980 model,

Here's a good one, I think I have come to the end of my journey, when the car is not running and i have the key in run, I lift the sensor plate and hear the freq valve, I asumned this meant it was good, until i put my finger on it and WHAM....I got shocked, so just to verify i stuck my finger on it again, yup shocked again, now this cannot be right, I removed it and tested per the book, it clicks like it should, this can't be right can it?

wierd! maybe a plug wire is shorting out to a piece of metal that's in the vicinity of the freq valve. unplug the relay under the passenger seat and finger test it again.
