How do you install the power window connector in the door post
I have tried to install the wiring connectors for the power window wiring in the door posts. It would be difficult with the front wings removed and seems impossible with the front wings mounted. Anyone that have successfully done this?

Was the wiring harness removed from the door and now you are trying to install the door and the wiring harness? (or wiring harness and door?)
Wings are the doors, correct?

Wings are fenders.
Bend a thin metal wire into a curve and try to get it from the inside of the car to the inside of the door. You may have to adjust the curve at little bit and you probably want to do this with the door open part way. Then, make a loop in one end, attached the wire harness to it and pull it through. Don't forget to put the rubber grommets onto the wire harness. JR |

You need really small hands.
When I installed my power windows (on a manual window car), I used a little bit of dish soap on the harness and then from inside the trunk, I had to reach and push the harness into place (I'm talking about the female receptical end). Once the main harness was in place, I took the (male) plug coming from the door and got it into position using some wooden tongs. Much easier said than done but it can be done. It could be helpful if you had a small kid to help you as nobody's hands could fit into that small space. It took me about 1.5 hours to dothe first side but the 2nd was a lot easier and only took about 10 min (got lucky). Vern Last edited by Tidybuoy; 09-06-2012 at 03:48 PM.. |

The rubber grommet is very difficult to push into the hole as it isn't very pliable and you have very little space to work. Using a heat gun on low to soften the rubber will make your task much easier. Removing the fender will make the re-installation even easier.

Thank you for the input.
The doors have been repainted and are currently off the car. While the doors were off I thought I had a great opportunity to install power windows.
