How to set 2.7L Idle speed?

I got a '77 911 2.7L. The very-recently-rebuilt engine idles at about 500-600 rpms. How do I set the idle speed higher? I looked in my Haynes manual and it said I needed "expensive equiptment" and tools that only a dealer or "competent mechanic" would have. Is this true, do I need a PRO to do this?

There is a large (1/2" diameter) adjusting screw on the left side of the throttle body that you can turn with a standard screwdriver. Clockwise to slow the idle, CCW to speed it up.

Ratboy,
Something else you need to consider. The idle speed is to be set when the engine is at operating temperature. For your car, that means 180 degrees. If you set the idle to ~950 per the manual while cold, when it reaches operating temp., your idle will be too high.

So, just like you need to check your oil level at 180 degrees, you likewise must set your idle when the engine is at this temp.
